All American Canal Lining Project

The All American Canal, considered an engineering marvel even by today's standards, is an 82 mile, unlined, gravity fed, water way. Providing approximately 3.1 million acre - feet of water annually to nine cities and 500,000 acres of agricultural lands through out the Imperial Valley.

Mr. Ken Gilmore, of R&L Brosamer has made several major modifications to machines to enable them to be used in this project due to the fact that the canal is so wide and so deep. The Canal lining project will entail lining 23 miles and take 2 years to complete. The result of the lining will be the conservation of 67,700 acre feet per year of Colorado river water that is currently being lost due to seepage.

Channel 1 is the exclusive photographer and videographer this ongoing project. We will be adding more pictures as this project progresses.
